Trigun (aggregate score 97)

This anime can considered one of the best anime classics Japan has released in to the world. The underlying story of the anime is quite entertaining as well as emotional. Frankly 26 episodes is quite few for the anime of this caliber.

Trigun Poster with main character Vash

The Anime in a nutshell:

The anime follows the day – to day adventures of Vash the Stampede, a legendary gunman who has a 60 billion $$ double dollars (‘$$’ the currency of the anime) bounty on his head. And he has a quite a bit history too, because hes different from any regular man. (That’s all I’ve got to say because I might spoil you)

Story-line 50/50 The whole concept of the story-line is simply amazing, when your watching its as you are there beside the characters, every episode has a new twist, and also gives you a little bit of critical piece of information (like the history of the planet and the main characters). It’s quite emotional, when one of the character dies (*spoiler alert*) you can be drawn in to the emotion, I myself when watching the specific part was in the brink of crying.

Animation 28/30 The animation was the cutting edge of the time that this anime was created, effects are quite good considering the time that this was created, the main characters themselves are quite detailed, and fluently animated. This anime is better viewed in HD, because it brings out the incredible fidelity and details that the animators have put into it.

Vash

Sound 19/20The  sounds are good, it has western cowboy ambiance to the whole anime theme. Soundtracks are good, and adopts nicely to every scene. The anime is also good in the English dub, Johnny Young Bosch voices Vash, which is sensational he was to able to capture the whole essence of Vash

Nicholas D. Wolfwood

making on par with the Japanese version. Johnny Young Bosch also dub voices of Ichigo in Bleach, Lelouch in Code of Geass, and many more.

Overall: a must watch anime, considered one of the anime classics. Watch it you’ll love it.

Ghost Hunt Review (aggregate score 88)

The anime is quite unique wherein it was able to blend in the super natural phenomenon with hard core scientific explanation. This anime will surely get you thinking.

The Anime in a nutshell:

The anime focuses mainly solving paranormal occurrences at a given place, this will include
occasional ghostly encounters and hauntings. The group is mainly composed of people with
varying spiritual beliefs, which makes their suitable contribution in the whole anime series.

Storyline 45/50 The whole concept and story is quite good, although some parts of the anime
are down right boring, and if you’re not paying attention to small details you
can get easily confused. Make sure that you have a handy dictionary while
watching this because some terms in the English dub are quite deep and
scientific.

Animation 25/30 The character design is good but not a total stand off, the details in the
places and locations are quite good, the overall rendering of the scenes
clean and logical.

Sound 18/20 The sound effects are good, the English dub is okay, it’s not record breaking but
delivers the right thought and content, the script is translated nicely. The downside
is some voices are stale, and the soundtracks for the anime is not that engaging.
But coincides with the theme rather well.

Overall: a good anime which will surely give you the goosebumps.

Dub vs. Sub (Which one is really better for anime’s?)

I will recieve some hate for this post, but what really is better English dub or sub for anime’s. For years anime publishers

are releasing English dub versions of their Japanese counterparts. Some anime purists are outraged by this notion

stating that the content and the emotions of the anime are ruined or not clearly manifested or translated. But some

people including me beg to differ, though there dubs that are just plain ugly and down right useless, but still there

are some anime’s that are dubbed nicely that the voice acting can rival those of the Japanese and some circumstances

like in Cowboy Bebop, even surpassing it.

So which one is better, well I have to give it to sub, because most of time they nail the right voice cast, even though

its Japanese but still you can still feel the emotions. But still there are some great English dubs that are worth your time

Cowboy Bebop is only one of a very long list of anime’s that are dubbed on par of their Japanese counterparts.

But as for me if there is a good dub, I won’t hesitate to take it up, because it can provide a better experience

listening to a language that you could and relate and understand just provides the viewer with a better overall  experience. If all else fails there still the sub.
